This Oklahoma Route 66 museum is housed in the historic Chandler Armory, which was constructed in 1937 as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal. Originally home to the Oklahoma National Guard, the sandstone structure now serves as a backdrop for the Route 66 treasures within. The building was also home to the Oklahoma Route 66 Association for many years before they moved to a new location in Tulsa in 2023.
