What do you do when your town is already home to the World’s Largest Wind Chime, World’s Largest Golf Tee, World’s Largest Pitchfork, World’s Largest Rocking Chair, World’s Largest Wooden Shoes, and World’s Largest Mailbox? Build more big things of course! Big things like the world’s largest key.

Casey, Illinois was already home to six of the world’s largest roadside attractions when, on September 28, 2019, they invited Guinness World Records back to town to certify six more! Among the big things that brought this town to twelve world records that day was the world’s largest truck key.

The world’s largest key comes in at 28 feet 2 inch tall by 11 feet 4 inches wide, and is an exact replica of record holder Jim Bolin’s Chevy Silverado truck, Chevrolet insignia and all.

Like most of the other big things in Casey, Illinois, this roadside attraction is adorned with an appropriate bible verse. This one from Matthew 16:19, “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Prior to Casey and its resident big-thing builder Jim Bolin’s effort, the title for world’s largest key was held since 2016 by a 25 foot 3 inch by 9 foot 2 inch key in Qatar and previously in 2006 by an 18 by 8 foot 6 inch version in Cyprus.
The other Casey, Illinois roadside attractions certified as world’s largest on September 28, 2019, were the World’s Largest Gavel, World’s Largest Barbershop Pole, World’s Largest Teeter Totter, World’s Largest Golf Club, and World’s Largest Swizzle Spoon.

I’d say big things might just be the KEY to Casey’s small town success, wouldn’t you?
