If you’re the type of person who always pulls over for roadside attractions you can’t miss this. Casey, Illinois is home to twelve official world’s largest things, houses a myriad of other oversized attractions, and takes their slogan of “Big Things in a Small Town” seriously. You can’t miss these Casey Illinois attractions.

Casey Illinois Attractions: Big Things in a Small Town

Casey, Illinois is located off of Interstate 70, halfway between St. Louis and Indianapolis. The entire town is only 2.16 square miles but within those boundaries (plus expanding into some of their Clark County neighbors) are twelve world’s largest roadside attractions that have been verified by the Guinness Book of World Records. Plus, there are more than 20 other non record holding but still impressively large big versions of everyday things.

Home to fewer than 3,000 people, the entire population of Casey could probably fit on the town’s giant rocking chair.

So who is behind giving you a BIG reason to visit Casey? That honor belongs to Jim Bolin. Bolin, co-owner of the family-owned Bolin Enterprises, Inc., came up with the idea to create a giant wind chime to lure people off the highway and into Casey. His attraction worked so well, that he just kept going. Since he already owned a pipeline and tank maintenance company, he had all the tools and recycled and repurposed materials he needed at his disposal to create big thing after big thing.
