You might plan to HEAD to the Antares Point Visitor Center in Kingman, Arizona to see their most famous site: Giganticus Headicus (the big green tiki head on Route 66). But there is more to see here than just that. One of the other big attractions at this Route 66 gift shop is the Guardian of Route 66 Sculpture.
A new “Guardian of Route 66” sculpture made by artist, welder, and New Jersey native turned local Gregg Arnold was unveiled at the site in 2021. The 16-foot-tall statue depicts a woman waving an American flag and carrying a big Route 66 shield.

Find this Arizona roadside attraction among other quirky sites at Antares Point Visitor Center & Gift Shop on Route 66. Formerly the Kozy Corner Trailer Park, Arnold purchased the property in 2000, transforming it into a wonderland of his art ever since.
Some of the other artwork you’ll find at Antares Point Visitor Center & Gift Shop have included giant robotic ants crawling up the side of the A-frame gift shop, a windmill with blades made from 1950s furniture, a plywood rocketship sign, and a drum full of “baby rattlers” (don’t worry ophidiophobes, they’re rattles for babies).
