Be sure to pull over and take some souvenir photos with the Route 66 Drive-Thru Shield in Kingman, Arizona.
For many years a temporary drive-through shield was erected (weather permitting) for the annual local Route 66 Fun Run in Kingman. It was a popular stop for participants to get a commemorative photo and attracted the attention of year-round visitors who didn’t realize it wasn’t a permanent fixture. That popularity sparked the idea that maybe a more lasting solution should take its place.
