The shape of the sign mimics that of the classic Route 66 shield and it is outlined in ropes of purple and red LEDs that glow at night. The main side reads “Grant, New Mexico” followed by “Historic Route 66” and is embellished with painted flames that celebrate Grants’s status as New Mexico’s “Land of Fire and Ice.”

The other side says “Grants, New Mexico” in a classic postcard style bubble font. The letters are filled with cartoon drawings of local scenery and the word “Welcome” is repeated down the sides in a variety of languages.
