If you’re standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona and looking for breakfast, lunch, or a sweet treat, there’s one fine sight that will satisfy all your cravings: Sipp Shoppe.
Winslow, Arizona is perhaps best known for its mention in the 1970s Eagles song, “Take it Easy.” The town celebrates its claim to fame at Standin’ on The Corner Park where a trompe-l’œil mural and sculpture recreate the song’s scenes. But on another corner of that same intersection, you’ll find Sipp Shoppe.
Sipp Shoppe in Winslow, Arizona is a retro-themed cafe and soda shop that offers a small menu of crepes, hot dogs, sandwiches, coffees, and ice cream creations. Stop in the morning for a latter and crepe or in the afternoon for a hot dog themed after one of the states on Route 66 and a chocolate milkshake or root beer float.
Sip Shoppe is located in the 1904 Navajo County Bank Building and its decor still pays homage to its past. Inside you’ll find chrome and red vinyl bar stools, Route 66 memorabilia, black and white photos, an original vault door, and restored tin ceilings. Outside admire the Navajo Rug patterned parapet.
If you’re looking to take it easy on your Route 66 road trip, there’s no better place than Sip Shoppe in Winslow. Get a chocolate malt, grab a seat, and watch the crowds gather at the roadside attraction across the street.
