The artwork was commissioned in July 2020 and was supposed to coincide with a “Beyond the Game” festival in conjunction with a Major League Baseball game played at Field of Dreams. The event was unfortunately cancelled due to Covid-19, but the mural (and an “If You Build It Exhibit” in the same building) still went ahead.
Written on top of the mural is that famous film line: “Is this heaven? No it’s Iowa.” Which makes the perfect selfie to commemorate your Iowa road trip.
After visiting this Iowa roadside attraction be sure to also swing by the National Farm Toy Museum nearby!
