The Candy Lady in Albuquerque, New Mexico takes no half-measures when it comes to her sweets. She’s in the empire business, making mouth-watering homemade confections, risque treats, and a special blue sky candy that has tourists knocking.

The Candy Lady was founded in 1980 by Diana Garcia Davis and her daughter Debbie and today Debbie is the one running the show. The shop is known for its hand-made fudge, black licorice, glazed fruits, chocolates, hard candy, truffles, custom cakes, and other delicious creations. But they’re probably even more well-known for a few other controversial confections that have earned them the nickname The “BAD” Candy Lady.

Not long after opening the shop received pushback after selling adult-themed candies and treats. Items still on the shelves in an X-rated section of the store today.
But even more so, the shop is known for its signature blue rock candy, sold in dime bags, that was used as a stand-in for “meth” in a popular TV franchise.

The Candy Lady created the prop methamphetamine for the first two seasons of Breaking Bad, a show about a chemistry teacher who turned to manufacturing the drug. But no actual drugs were used, instead, this Candy Lady made candy: clear and then blue rock candy that’s addictingly sweet.
Fans can come to Albuquerque, take a Breaking Bad Tour, visit the gift shop and museum, and stop here for some blue meth candy and souvenir photos.
