The Polk-a-Dot Drive In has been feeding hungry travelers since 1956. With a full menu of hamburgers, chicken, hot dogs, ice cream, milkshakes, and their famous chili cheese fries, there is something to order for everyone.

Inside the restaurant is decorated in retro diner decor complete with a checkerboard floor, classic movie memorabilia, jukeboxes, and more.

Outside you can take your photo with a slew of your favorite celebrities. Life-sized statues of Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, James Dean, the Blues Brothers and Betty Boop line up for selfies. There’s also a display featuring Superman, vintage photo booth and Daily Planet newspaper backdrop and all.

You’ll be sure to spot the Polk-a-Dot Drive In on your Route 66 road trip so pull over for lunch or dinner and a selfie or two. And, while you’re there, be sure to pop across the street to see another fun Illinois Route 66 roadside attraction: the Braidwood Zoo.
