Just like back in the day, this unique spot serves double duty: it is both a full-service pharmacy and a nostalgic soda fountain. Although the business gives off pure vintage charm, Monarch actually opened in 2015, making it a relatively new addition to Route 66 with an old-school feel.

You can stop in to pick up a prescription or simply treat yourself to something sweet at the counter or drive-thru. The menu features soda fountain favorites like hand-dipped shakes and malts, Brown Cows (chocolate syrup, Coca-Cola, and vanilla ice cream), Black Cows (with root beer instead), egg creams, root beer floats, phosphates, lime and cherry rickeys, Green Rivers, and classic scoops of Anderson Ice Cream.
