The Campbell Hotel in Tulsa, Oklahoma is a historic property located on a historic road. On your Route 66 road trip, spend the night in one of the 26 uniquely decorated rooms in this boutique hotel.
The Campbell Hotel started its life as the Casa Loma Hotel in 1927. Located in the Max Campbell Building, the 33-room property was centrally located on a trolly line that would transport passengers between Route 66 and downtown Tulsa.
The building was constructed in the 1920s Spanish colonial revival style that was popular at the time, with touches of light brown brick, a tiled roof, terra-cotta ornamentation, and shaped parapets.
Eventually, the building began to fall into disrepair, and, by 2009, it had seen better days. The roof was gone, which meant water damage plagued the property and the brick building was partially in shambles. In 2009 a complete redevelopment and renovation began, culminating in the Tulsa’s 2011 Designer Showcase. More than forty local designers were brought in to lend their own styles and visions to the hotel’s rooms. In August 2011, the freshly-designed Campbell Hotel opened its doors to guests once again. It has since been added to the National Register of Historic Places.
You can now stay in one of 26 uniquely decorated rooms that are inspired by Oklahoma’s locales and history. Rooms come with memorabilia and touches from the University of Tulsa, Wiemann Metalcraft, Route 66, the mid-century, 1920s Art Deco, Bama Pies, and the Rennaissance. Each features hardwood floors, fireplaces, and luxury finishes.
The hotel is conveniently located right on Route 66 and just a short drive from some of the best attractions in the city, like Buck Atom’s Cosmic Curios, the Meadow Gold Sign, and Mother Road Market. An on-site bar and lounge and a full-service spa and salon mean you don’t have to travel far for all the amenities you need.
