In Santa Fe Park, right outside the historic El Garces Harvey House in Needles, California, you’ll find the Needles Route 66 Bench: part seat, part selfie spot, part roadside attraction.
This bench isn’t just somewhere to rest your feet, it’s also a work of art. The base is sculpted to look like the rocky desert terrain, while a blue stripe flowing beneath represents the Colorado River. Behind it, a bold Route 66 shield and railroad crossing signs tie it all back to the Mother Road and the tracks that put Needles on the map.

Enjoy fun games and challenges to pass the time on your next road trip and have a keepsake to look back on for years to come with this entertaining must-have for your next vacation.
The bench sits in front of the El Garces Harvey House, once called the “Crown Jewel” of the Fred Harvey chain. First a destination for train passengers and later a familiar sight for Route 66 motorists, it’s a reminder of the town’s role as a travel hub.
Santa Fe Park itself spans just under an acre and includes shady trees, a World War I memorial cannon, and space for community events. The bench is part of the city’s effort to celebrate its history while giving travelers a fun place to stop and snap a souvenir selfie.
