Cheers from Des Moines! I always love a good “greetings from” postcard mural (like these in Chicago and Austin) so I just had to check out this Cheers from Des Moines mural in Iowa while stopping in town on a road trip.

The mural, created by artist Ben Schuh, is located on the side of Exile Brewing Company. Along with the phrase “Cheers from Des Moines” printed in giant block letters, it features local landmarks (like the Capitol Building and Keynote Bridge) along with an ode to biking (the artist is an avid biker) and, because of the location, beer.

This street art was part of the Des Moines Walls Project, an initiative launched in 2016 by Liz Lidgett of Adore Your Walls that aimed at bringing more public art to the area.

While you’re in town saying cheers or checking out the local brew, be sure to check out some nearby Des Moines roadside attractions, like Plantoir (the world’s largest garden towel) and all the art at Pappajohn Sculpture Park.
